Per Schelander decided to leave Royal Hunt after more than 4 years of rocking with the band due to his obligations in Pain of Salvation, and quickly the band announced a new bass player - Andreas Passmark, a truly gifted musician who has just finished recording the bass tracks for the new RH album. The drums + bass preview is available here.

Okay, I forgot to post the link to the pics before, but >>here it is<< and a new update from Royal Hunt about their 10th studio album:
Royal Hunt are entering the very final stages of preproduction for their new – tenth since their debut in 1991 - studio album (the actual recordings will start by the end of this month). This time the band decided to revisit their roots and incorporate some of the musical values of the 70´s into their songwriting as well as – in order to reinforce that particular atmosphere - employing mostly “retro” means of production (recording in analogue format exclusively being one of them). Music has been described as “an interesting mix of what’s been tagged as Classic Rock nowadays (established by Kansas, Genesis, ELP´s earlier works and Deep Purple, Uriah Heep´s classics from the same era) and Royal Hunt´s trademark composition/delivery”. The album is expected to be mixed/mastered sometime during the summer.

Edge of the World's history began on May, 1st, 2003, when it was started on royalhunt.narod.ru and later moved to royalhunt.org in April 2005, so it's been five years of online existence!!
And by the way, Royal Hunt started a tour diary, so you can already read the first notes about the rehearsals!

The official website is down for a little while, so if anyone's curious about who is gonna replace Allan on tour, then here's the answer: Mr. Magnus Ulfstedt!

While you are awaiting the new release, here are some site and band news:
The show in Portugal is officially confirmed, it's right there! More shows are probably being confirmed, but nothing can be said now for sure, so we just have to wait for the new dates. Frontiers Records have uploaded two more preview tracks from the album - Exit Wound & The Clan (you can hear Henrik Brockmann on this one).
As for the site, I don't think that the planned major redesign will happen, we'll be running on this version, but some pics of background will be changed, because I'm busy with Royal Hunt's MySpace, Last.fm page (by the way, the last.fm users can hear those two "old" tracks in (almost) full preview on their page) and also with the recordings of my band, Eclipse Hunter. But it doesn't mean this site is dead - NO! It's still up'n'running and will be updated frequently. So if you see a new tour date, then don't miss your chance, book a ticket immediately! And yeah, also you will notice some surprises in February from royalhunt.org - so stay tuned.
